1986 Chris Craft 292 Sunbridge
1986 Chris Craft 292 Catalina Sunbridge Sedan
The Catalina is a traditional yacht: wide beamed and seakindly, with enough room for the whole family to cruise comfortably. The Catalina line features the use of finished red oak on all interior surfaces.
Introduced as a replacement for the aging Chris Craft 28 Catalina—and built on the 28 Catalina’s hull—the Chris Craft 292 Sunbridge is a versatile family boat with a still-attractive profile and an unusually spacious cockpit for a 29-foot cruiser. (Note that the deckhouse is set well forward on the deck to allow space aft for the large cockpit.) The hull is solid fiberglass, and a wide beam results in a fairly roomy interior. The single-level floorplan is almost the same as the older 28 Catalina with berths for six and good headroom throughout. The small galley will handle most basic food-prep necessities, and the standup head compartment has plenty of room.
Topside, the flybridge has seating for the helmsman and up to four guests. Lift-out hatches in the cockpit sole provide good access to the engine compartment. Topside, the flybridge is arranged with the helm forward and seating for four. An efficient performer with a pair of 220hp Crusader gas engines, the Chris Craft 292 Sunbridge will cruise easily at 19 knots at just 17 gallons per hour—excellent economy indeed. The top speed is about 28–29 knots depending upon the load.
New in 2018: 2 Carburetors, 2 Fuel Pumps, Rotors/Caps and Engine Wiring, 12V Wiring, 3 NEW Batteries, Shafts Repacked, Flat Screen TV, Stereo, VHF Radio.
